Commissioned by a very special man who had a Japanese brush drawing of a dove created for his business card.

He enquired about the possibility of recreating the design in jewellery and of course the answer was “yes”.

The design process focused on how to retain the sense of a flying bird using metal instead of delicate brush strokes, while still including the level of detail in the drawing.

After discussing different design options, he chose this design where the wings were created in filigree to give a light and airy feel, as if the dove is taking off in flight. The body was made in solid silver sheet to give the design presence.

The final result is elegant, just like the man himself.
