Inspired by light being refracted into a rainbow of colours on moving water, this is a unique sculpture.

Formed by hand piercing 925 sterling silver sheet, the open curved shapes have been filled using the difficult plique-a-jour enamelling technique.

The beautiful shades of vitreous enamel let the light pass through, creating a miniature stained glass effect when positioned in front of a window or light source. The opposite side of the rectangle is formed in decorative silver filigree which lets light through the enamel.

Designed primarily as an ornament, the sculpture can also be worn on a chain as a pendant.

Approximate size: h 4cm x w 1.5cm x l 2.7cm. Handmade in 925 sterling silver with plique-a-jour vitreous enamel and silver filigree.

Tara Lois uses very fine, hand drawn pure silver wire to create the filigree design. Traditional vitreous enamel is applied by hand and kiln fired at over 800 degrees Celsius which can result in small imperfections in the glass and slightly different shades.
