This ring was a redesign for a client who had a diamond ring remodelled by her mother but originally her grandmother’s, and a large amethyst pendant.

Because this client lives in Malta the proposed design she chose included a wide ring band made in the style of Maltese filigree, but created from stronger gold ribbon.

Working with existing jewellery is challenging because it was never intended to blend into new designs. There is a great responsibility to honour the original memories linked to the heirlooms.

Tara Lois is especially proud of this ring because it won Malta’s People’s Choice Award with votes from around the world and featured on Maltese TV.
